About

Rome's ruined ancient port city sits a 35 minute regional train ride from Piramide station, and gets a fraction of the visitors Pompeii does despite covering more ground and staying just as well preserved, full streets of shops, an amphitheatre and mosaic floored bathhouses still intact underfoot. It runs entirely self guided by train and ticket, or as a booked half day tour with a guide who can actually explain what each ruined shopfront used to sell. Bring water, there is very little shade once inside the site.
