A tiny trattoria on a Trastevere back street with maybe a dozen tables, doing textbook versions of carbonara, oxtail and fried artichoke that keep a queue forming on the pavement most of the day. It does not take bookings for most tables, so arriving right at opening for lunch or a little before 7pm for dinner is the only real strategy. It is cash preferred and old school in the best way, no menu translated for effect, no concessions to the tourist crowd it clearly gets anyway.
